KC ISSUES REMINDER ON
DOGS OF UNRELIABLE
TEMPERAMENT IN AGILITY
Following a number of incident reports
received, the Kennel Club would like to
remind competitors, judges and show
management in agility, that dogs of
unsound temperament, or which show
undue aggression to persons or other
dogs, should not take part in agility
competitions under any circumstances.
The Agility Regulations require handlers to
keep their dogs under control at all times,
and specifically require dogs which are
of
such temperament or so much out of hand
as to be a danger to the safety of any
person or other animal
to be immediately
withdrawn from competition and removed
from an agility show.
Judges are reminded that they should not
accommodate any requests from
competitors whose dogs are of an
unsteady temperament for alternative
running order times, such as during the
lunch hour or towards the end of a class.
The obligation rests with the
owner/handler to ensure that a dog
remains under control at all times and in all
parts of a show ground.
